Hello - Welcome to Almena United Methodist Church!

I'm Marcia and mine is often the first face you'll see when you visit us. We're a quaint, country church in the outskirts of Kalamazoo in a little township called Almena and we're so glad you're thinking about visiting us.  Our parking lot may look a little full on Sunday mornings, but our overflow lot is anywhere on the grass!

When you enter the church, you'll be in the Narthex.  To the left is our sanctuary where worship takes place.  To the right are coat racks and Fellowship Hall.

The bathrooms and water fountain are located past the coat racks into the Fellowship hall and to your left, next to the door to the kitchen.  To your right when you enter the Fellowship Hall is a set of stairs going down to the Sunday School classrooms and the Nursery.   Our Nursery is staffed by a paid caregiver, with a volunteer helper.  We have a Safe Sanctuary Policy that assures your children get safe and professional care.

While we don't have a "cry room", in the sanctuary, the sound of babies, even crying ones, always reminds us of God's miracle of birth. There are plenty of other children to mask the sound and all are welcome.
 
There is generally a pretty relaxed environment at Almena.   Being as such, casual attire is usually worn – slacks and tops are typical.  Please come as you are; we'd love to see you no matter what your attire!  Hearing Assist devices are available at the sound booth or by asking an usher.
