How better to "Rest in the Lord" than to wrap yourself up in something comfy?  A quilt made with love can feel like the arms of God wrapped around you.  The Almena Quilters create just such pieces of warmth.

The Almena Quilting Club is currently meeting on Thurs. afternoons from l:00-4:00 at the church.  We are working on quilting an appliqued quilt that we put together this past winter.  In May we will begin meeting on the 1st Tuesday of the month at 7:00 p.m. and will no longer meet on Thurs. afternoons.  When the quilt is finished we will raffle it off with the proceeds going to the church as a thank you for letting us meet there.

This is the 5th quilt we have made and raffled.  We also have made baby blankets for a organization in Kalamazoo, lap quilts for nursing homes and PJ's  and quilts for homeless children and children that have been removed from their homes.  Last summer we also donated small quilted items for the Relay For Life silent auction.  Anyone who is interested in quilting is welcome to join our group.

Almena United Methodist Church gives thanks to the ladies of the
Quilters Club for their hard work and dedication.  They have
been given a skill by God and they use it to glorify Him.
